Minimal Requirements
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, possess good math, reading, writing, and organizational skills, and enjoy working unassisted as well as in a team. In addition, applicants must have the ability to work in a variety of environments, climb ladders, work on elevated platforms, work in constrained spaces, and lift 50 pounds unassisted.
Summary Job Descriptions
Technicians and Electricians install and maintain communications cabling systems, telephone/data systems, audio-visual systems, and wireless networks. Lead Technicians are responsible for a variety of cable installation projects, ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are available for projects, Supervise Technicians and Apprentices relative to Company policies and practices, and interfaces with customers on a regular basis. Minimum 3-5 years experience with installation of copper & fiber optic structured cabling and electronic equipment, and an excellent driving record.
Service Electricians work with commercial/industrial accounts providing installation and maintenance of branch circuitry, conduit, and communication cabling both copper and fiber optic. Applicants must have a Journeyman’s Electricians card with a minimum of 3 years experience in electrical service work and an excellent driving record. Previous experience in the communications industry is a plus but not necessary.
Apprentice Technicians assist with the installation and service of structured cabling systems and a variety of electronic equipment while learning company, industry and manufacturer installation practices and standards. Apprentices complete their On-the Job and Classroom Training over a four year period.
